Reading Time: 3 minutes

Intobirds’ is thrilled our favorite wildlife rehabilitator and the youngest falconer in Connecticut, Christine Peyreigne of Christine’s Critters, is a featured guest at the 16th Annual Teatown Hudson River EagleFest taking place on February 8 at Croton Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.

EagleFest celebrates the Bald Eagle’s winter migration to the Hudson River and is hosted by Teatown, a nonprofit environmental education center and nature preserve.

IntoBirds love these types of organizations and is proud to help support them.

A Passion for Birds of Prey

And we love to support Christine and her passion for helping injured birds of prey get a second chance at life in the wild.

Christine is proof that following your passion offers great personal reward, and in her case, it helps save our injured birds of prey.

At age 14, Christine knew she wanted to dedicate her life to working with animals, so she began volunteering with various wildlife organizations to learn more about caring for birds of prey.

Becoming a licensed general class falconer at 16, she began hunting with her falconry bird, a Red-tailed Hawk named Theron.

At age 18, she became a trained wildlife rehabilitator.

Now 22, she owns and operates Christine’s Critters, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) created in 2015 whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured birds of prey.

In 2019, Christine Critters took in 252 injured birds of prey.

For those of us who love birds, we’re lucky to have Christine and her incredible talents to care for them.
