IntoBirds has teamed up with ‘Get the Lead Out,’ a new Facebook group created by Christine’s Critters, Inc., a Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education non-profit in Weston, Conn., and wildlife artist Pat Morris of Willington, Conn. to bring national awareness to the fact that the Bald Eagle and other birds of prey are dying from lead poisoning at alarming rates.

The ‘Get the Lead Out’ Facebook group is committed to advocating for the eradication of lead in the environment.

Save the Bald Eagle and Other Birds of Prey

The American Bald Eagle, the national symbol of the U.S and a federally protected bird once endangered now faces a new threat. People who love birds can share their voice and help prevent the decimation of Bald Eagles and other birds of prey.

“We are proud to join forces with ‘Get the Lead Out’ and support its mission to ensure we have a non-lead future,” says Reneé Hewitt co-founder, and editor-in-chief of intoBirds. “It’s important that we encourage fishermen and hunters to switch to less toxic materials and that we advocate for laws to restrict the use of lead-based ammunition to preserve our wildlife.”
