One of the most rewarding aspects of intoBirds is meeting people inspired by birds, and people like wildlife artist Pat Morris who embody the concept that being an artist is celebrating life.
I’m thrilled to introduce Pat and her fantastic artwork to you.
Pat not only uses birds as her inspiration, but she transforms feathers into delicate works of art.
Love for Nature and Wildlife
She loves nature, especially crows, ravens, hawks, eagles and Canada Geese, and each is reflected in her artwork.
Pat paints primarily on feathers but also uses found natural objects such as Birch tree bark, mushrooms, and slate as her canvases.
She dedicates her life to nature by caring for wildlife and giving a new purpose to those gifts she finds in nature.
I was struck by her passion for helping teach others how to paint on feathers and the pride she takes in mentoring young people to pick up the craft.
Pat says, “It’s like birds are in my soul. I need birds.”
The great painter Jackson Pollock said, “Painting is self-discovery. Every good artist paints what he is.”
Wildlife Artist Helps Others See Nature
And Pollock was right.
Birds are in Pat’s soul with her deep-rooted love for nature.
Pat’s gift to paint birds gives a voice to nature and affords onlookers the privilege of enjoying wildlife they might not ever see for themselves.
Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
