If someone calls you a bird brain, consider it a compliment.
I’ve always been fascinated by bird intelligence and thought some birds, specifically crows, ravens and blue jays had superior cognitive abilities that often exceed that of some humans.
And now after reading ‘Bird Brain: An Exploration of Avian Intelligence’ by Nathan Emery, my suspicions have been confirmed.
Although humans have been fascinated by birds because we desire their ability to fly, with the help of technology, we’ve bested our avian friends and can soar higher than any bird could ever fly.
But we’ve always underestimated a bird’s intelligence.
Referring to someone as a ‘bird brain’ is a compliment now in my lexicon.
So get schooled and grab a copy of ‘Bird Brain: An Exploration of Avian Intelligence’ by Nathan Emery to learn why.

We agree. Birds need enrichment, especially when they are rehabilitating from an injury.
